ESG Data Analyst/Programmer

Schedule: 8:30am-5:30pm PST, Mon-Fri
Salary Range: $85000-$95000/ year

OVERVIEW:
Verdani is seeking a talented Data Analyst/Programmer with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience to join our Technology team. In this pivotal role, the Data Analyst/Programmer will contribute directly to both client-facing and internal operations technology initiatives, playing a crucial part in aligning our technology solutions with our ESG programs and strategic business objectives. As an integral member of our team, you will leverage your expertise to support the development and optimization of our company-wide technology stack and client technology platforms. Your ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments and functions will be essential. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide innovative solutions that drive sustainability and social responsibility in the commercial real estate industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support our Technology Task Force (including Technology Director and Advisor) in implementing projects aligned with technology roadmap.
Develop, build, and streamline data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines tailored to Verdani's ESG technology stack needs.
Design, build, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports to meet the specific data visualization and reporting needs of Verdani's ESG client-facing technology platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and optimize technical requirements, data quality, and effective implementation planning.
Develop clear and functional SOPs for all related workflows and processes. Train team members on SOPs as needed.
Facilitate communication and coordination between our Technology Task Force, Engineering team, and Development team to ensure effective project execution.
Support and maintain existing data pipelines, troubleshooting critical issues, and providing timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Provide data analyst/programming insights for technology initiatives aligned with business goals and ESG principles.
Demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to best practices in data engineering and analysis.
Develop expertise in technical and functional domain areas, becoming a Subject Matter Expert within the organization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of development experience using applicable technologies and/or data functions within ESG, real estate, financial services, or consulting industries.
Proficiency with Power BI, ArcGIS, JavaScript, and APIs.
Knowledge of Azure platform including Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks as well as knowledge of coding languages such as Python, Scala, and SQL.
Proficiency with building data pipelines and leveraging cloud-based solutions.
Proficiency with data interpretation, transformation, and scripting.
Proficiency with information architecture, graphic design, user experience (UX) design, and interaction design principles for effective and pleasing data visualization, dashboard design, and report design.
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and experience working with iterative, Agile, and traditional development lifecycle approaches.
Strong leadership and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Self-motivated and organized, with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and manage effectively within a remote team environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in ESG, real estate, financial services, or asset management functions is highly preferred.
Knowledge of Utility data platforms (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Measurabl).
Knowledge of Sustainability Reporting online platforms/frameworks (e.g., GRESB, GRI).
Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Software (e.g., Enhesa, VelocityEHS).
Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems
Knowledge of Tableau or similar visualization tools.
Experience collaborating with global development teams across different geographies and time zones.
